Closing Of This Blog

frens & loved ones...

it is come to my decision that i will finally close up my mrs phillippe's blog. it was a good ten months, as short as it was. i have to admit, this blog started off very much without much commitment, but somehow i got to writing more because of the frens i got to know of from this blog. some who even took the time to write personal emails to me, i thank u for such sincerity.

mrs phillippe's blog has always been my secondary blog (which by the way does not discount how much i love my ryan LOL), as my heart & commitment rest more with my original blog in vox. i suppose if time were a better friend, i would love to carry on penning my thoughts and feelings on this blog and let mrs phillippe's blog continue, unfortunately it wasn't & it would be a struggle for me to maintain two blogs actively.

as my other blog in vox is currently also viewed by family and colleagues at work, identity is therefore rather undisclosed, so i couldn't display it here, but would very much love to have the support from all of you to continue reading my work there, as i would with all your lovely blogs. do email me if you would like to visit my other (alive) blog one day :-)

cheerios my dearies, stay in touch always...

hugs & kisses, mrs phillippe

The Moonlight Resonance Craze

I have to admit, I am quite a follower of Hong Kong's cantonese series, but to limited genre. I think it's mainly because I place great emphasis on the main casts. If the main casts are not to my liking, I won't bother watching regardless how good the story line is. And I am so slow in catching up with the entire series! Time is not really a friend to me, and even if the series is really great, I will usually only have like that thirty minutes to an hour before bedtime to watch bit by bit. And that's not good, at times I over-watched on certain nights and became miss-yawn-the-whole-day at work the next day LOL

Last year a great buzz was made on the series Heart of Greed. For any housewife who watches canton series, it was like a sin if you have not watched it. The series swept most of the major awards at the TVB Annual Awards 2007, including Best Series, Best Male (Moses Chan, I like!) and Best Female (Lei See Khei). I was a fan too, great list of casts, extreme family turmoil, loads of bitching and back-stabbing LOL
After its great success, now they're back with the 2nd instalment, called Moonlight Resonance. So highly demanded it was, retailers were selling the series by batches of episodes, not even waiting for the filming to be completed! Astro cleverly showed 5-episode preview, luring helpess housewives into subscribing.

I must say, this time round (from watching the sneak-peek episodes), there's more bitching, slapping, hair pulling, auntie whacking enemies with a broom and much more in Moonlight Resonance, definitely intriging LOL. But I must admit, with the great chemistry both Lei See Khei and Suzanna Kwan had in Heart of Greed, with See Khei as the 'goddess' woman of hope and purity, and Suzanna as the ill-hearted bitter mega-bitch, I was really hoping they would switch roles this time round. Unfortunately they did not. Anyway, not only housewives but the younger generation including myself are hooked to it. I've yet to really start watching Moonlight Resonance but many around me have already got on board, all asking me 'Watcha waiting for?! Hello?!". Another friend even proposed "Hey, let's take three days leave and we'll 'chase' it together!". Yes, the fever is on again, and yes, auntily (auntie + ly) I will be going on board very soon thee hee hee....

Mamma Mia!

I'm touched to blog about this movie and their music, as they involve my very first idol, the ever amazing ABBA. I grew up with a very musical father, and music was one of the fundamental background in my childhood, listening to Elvis, Beatles etc, and loads of music from the 60's and 70's like Close To You, Let It Be, Bridge Over Troubled Water, He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother, Tell Laura I Love Her, It's Now Or Never, and the list goes on. But my very first idol, was definitely ABBA. Mind you, at the of four, I've already started having teenage symptoms like going ga-ga over idols, and I would be running to the stores everytime their out with a new album.

If I remember correctly, their first album I ever bought was Arrival, with songs like Dancing Queen, Knowing Me, Knowing You and Money, Money, Money. Then I started collecting their older albums with songs like Honey, Honey, Waterloo, Hasta Manana and Ring Ring.

These three music videos are some of my most favourite songs from ABBA, Super Trouper, Take A Chance On Me and Chiquitita. But there are just so many more. While I grew up listening to ABBA, my brother indulged in Bee Gees.

When the movie Mamma Mia! came I knew I had to go watch, and what more, the great Meryl Streep is in it! The movie started with the song I Had A Dream, and revealed a totally story line of its own, and it involves a mother and daughter relationship, both in search of love in their lives, a romance for the mother, and tracking down the real father for the daughter.

The movie absolutely did not disappoint at all. Music was great, they improvised the musical arrangements, not too much that it changes the orignal ABBA feel, plus altering some of the lyrics to suit the story. The characters were hillarious, scripts were entertaining. And of course, lots of colourful costumes & grand musical scenes.

Watching Mamma Mia! brought back many great memories to me. I will definitely continue listening to ABBA's music, their tunes still get me singing and moving anytime.

Agnetha, Frida, Benny & Bjorn, this post is dedicated to you. You guys rock!!

My Secret Fantasy Involves Black Men

It's no secret to my close buddies what my secret fantasy is. Yes, they involve black men. Something about how black men attracts me, making me confess without shame...

I am of course talking (or rather drooling) about mostly urban looking American blacks. Don't even get me started on thug-looking rappers! Yummy...
When I first saw this video of D'Angelo (above), I like sat there, eyes pinned to the TV and just went "Oh...my..."I didn't even know who he was, but who cares?! LOL

And there's the young black singers we have, Omarion (far right), loved him since his B2K days. Just watching him dance in his videos is a treat. Chris Brown (centre), who in the world doesn't think he's cute?! Of course another great dancer himself, he's becoming very huge nowadays. Then there's Bow Wow (far left), who released a duet album with Omarion titled Face Off. Hmm...perhaps I'll need separate posts altogether just to talk them thee hee...

Of Hectic Office Life, Much Lesser Gym, Late Nites With Friends & Snacks, And The Man Dat I Shudn't Fall 4

Not dat I am very diligent in updating dis blog of mine, but lately it has definitely died down. Yes, much to blame on the horrendous workload in office (I know, such a boring reason). The past few weeks have been days with long hours at work 4 me. Coming in to work at 8am and leaving the place after 9pm sort of scarily became a routine 4 me at least twice a week. At times I find myself feeling like a zombie after I pass 9PM at work. Dat is when I know I have to call it a day. Frens are starting to tease me "hey you work like a CEO, are they paying u like one meh?"

I am already guilty for not visiting the gym as frequent as I should, only like wat, twice a week, is already a good record for me for the past months. But lately it has gone worse. I come home feeling drained out and hungry. At almost 9PM at least, how do I even find the discipline and energy to push myself to drive to gym, I just don't know. Hence, gym became a stranger to me lately.

And to make things more guilty for me, with the already tired body and zombied mind, I will often throw myself onto the bed say like 12+ midnite, turn on my Friends series (FYI I am into Season 7 of my recycling of watching these evergreen series, dun judge me! i just love them OK LOL), start nibling my supper snacks. OMG, lack of rest, still want to sleep late, no exercise, and pigging out in the middle of the nite?? Yes, you can judge me on these...
And to top the cream to the cake of guilt and feeling of absurdity lately, I am recently starting to have feelings for dat person again. The very person I am totally not suppose to feel for, in any way. I started developing feelings for Mr. S, a person completely falling out of the range of my usual liking and taste, and for some weird reasons attracting me like mysterious moths to a flame. I knew it was spelling danger when it started, and when he sort of reciprocate, my world went upside down a little. I forced myself to take a step back at dat point. And it worked for a while, until now, months after. Lately, the feelings are coming on stronger than ever. And why you might be asking, I am forcing myself to avoid dis. Well, erm...just one reason, strong enuff more than ever to justify. He's married.....

Beijing Olympics 2008 Opening

I was trying to find the full video of the Beijing Olympics opening in YouTube, can't seem to find it, only bits and pieces, or slide shows of the pics. So I suppose these pics will have to do for now.....

What an opening, the fireworks were awesome. I liked the first act, counting down with the electronic drums (above), it was really grand and impressive.
There were however accusations that some of the grand acts shown on telly were fake, especially the fireworks. Not sure how true this is, but I sure hope it isn't. The act with the little girl singing (above), we could easily tell she lip-synching, but apparently they said the original voice came from another little girl who was not allowed to go up and sing because she did not possess a 'cute enough' face. Just not sure how true are all these allegations, are they merely allegations from sour grape parties?

One thing's for sure, manpower is what China has, and manpower is what China used to the fullest to stun the world with their massive usage of human on their opening acts. Even the stage was hovered by human. This was another one of my favourites too, the gigantic globe, with human running all over it. And of course Sarah Brightman sang beautifully on the top of it, for her duet with China's Liu Huan. But one thing puzzled me, with Sarah dressed up glamourously in her gown, can't Liu Huan at least dress more decently rather than a horrid looking T-Shirt? Call it simplicity, but I call it not respecting the occasion (eyes rolled up)....

Well done, China...well done...

Silver Is Quite Alright, Chong Wei!!

I am absolutely not a sports-goer, let alone badminton, but I watched the finals in Beijing Olympics last night between our very own Lee Chong Wei and world number Lin Dan from China. Hopes were definitely high for our own Malaysian to win this only Gold for the country. Perhaps that's the very same thing dat dragged Chong Wei's mental strength down, and drove him to let Lin Dan smack him off straight two sets. Imagine the pressure of being the 1st to bring a gold medal home from the Olympics, for the very first time in the history of Malaysia, the feeling must be unbearable. I totally understand how stressful that must be for him. Not to mention the crowd was soaring for Lin Dan in nearly every shot.
What made most Malaysians disappointed was, perhaps they expected it to be a better fight, at least. In the 2nd set we can see Chong Wei totally worn out, pretty much without hope already. But hey, we got a Silver medal guys, for Malaysia. Whoelse can do that for Malaysia this Olympics? Let's cut him some slack, shall we....

Chong Wei - Lesson learned, we need to build ourselves with better mental strength and able ourselves to fight under the hardest pressure in the future.
