This week has been stressful. 3 days in a row now I had to stay back in office till late to work. By 4pm 2day (the 4th day) I was already a half-zombie at work. At that point my mind had refused to continue working. I decided not to stay back anymore 2day, called my cousin to meet-up for dinner, and planned to go home, take a nice, warm shower and wait for American Idol on TV b4 I hit the bed.
It then happened. I was at home, in the living room, and today I had most part of my blinds closed, leaving only like ONE sq. ft. wide opened. But it was wide enough, more than enough for him to crawl in. I jumped off from my seat and saw it, a small bird, no bigger than my palm itself, standing there, looking at me, already claimed few inches into my living room.
I sat there for a few moments, thinking. I am terrible with animals, you name it. Apart from most dogs, I'm not good with even lizards, cockroaches, bugs, rats, you name it. I quickly made some hand gestures to shoo it off. It stood there undeterred. I continued waving my hands and it suddenly flew into the corner behind my TV cabinet. OK, great....Not that the little birdie is scary, but the thought of a living thing hidden anywhere in my home, the thought of how I could accidentally bump into something moving at any hidden corners, I couldn't handle it.
So I gathered my armour and weapon, ie a huge pillow and a broomstick (ahem, yea it's true LOL), and started to helplessly shoo off the creature, hopefully it would understand my harmless actions, and fly outwards of my apartment. Each time I used the broomstick to slowly usher it out, it just sat there, not budging! After a few helpless attempts, it finally moved and for some reason it hid further inwards and disappeared somewhere in the TV cabinet!
"But it was wide enough, more than enough for him to

I gave up, sat on the sofa and started thinking of all the scenarios of me bumping into this bird at any time at any place in my apartment from now on. After like 10 minutes, the visitor flew out of nowhere, it soared high into the ceiling, up above me, I was without my armour and weapon in my hands, I shrieked like crazy and sat there stunned. By now it's becoming like a horrifying scene in the Psycho movie, and it's all for a tiny helpless bird! I know, but I can't help it, yes I admit I'm useless LOLIt then flew into a new corner, behind the shelves. I flustered and continued my attempt to shoo it out of the apartment. This went on for at least 10 more minutes, it flew to at least 3 more places in the living room before finally landing on the balcony. I shouted a sigh of relief and quickly slammed the balcony door closed. It ended at 11:25PM, and I sat there on the floor by myself, started laughing my heart out. My living room was left a complete mess, contents from the rubbish bin were poured out on the floor, my astro remote and magazines flew off the coffee table, furnitures were shifted here & there because of the commotion. OMG, incredible. I was really silly, but I knew it was something I'm hopeless at, and had no other ways to react. Sorry little birdie, I hoped I did not scare you as much as you scared me LOL, pls forgive me, and hope you're OK. Hope 2 see you doing OK again in the future, outside my apartment, that is....
